(I wish this video was on YouTube just for context, but it sadly isn’t - I even emailed the NZ Tourism Board last year cause I wanted to watch it for nostalgia’s sake.) That advertisement would repeat all the time on television, and I remember my ten-year-old self believing that I would need to physically witness something as beautiful as this for my life to feel complete. Looking at this photograph, framed exactly like that shot from that ad, I can’t help thinking that my ten-year-old self was right.
