Papercut hearts
My family was making me depressed today, so I stayed at work for 14 hours. Isn’t that all sorts of sad? (I apologize for the self-pity, but it’s past midnight and I haven’t had dinner or watched any Battlestar Galactica today.)
When I went to Disneyland I ran by Jack Sparrow doing the flailing arms thing he...
– One of a number of great Jack Sparrow stories in the replies to the Disneyland exposé on ONTD. Sadly enough, I kinda still do want to work there. I mean, where else do you get to meet Prince Erics and Jack Sparrows?
High School Confidential
unaware: Newsweek’s high school rankings chart is out again. Sickening. As a graduating high school senior this year, I would like to voice my concerns with the nature of ranking high schools based on IB/AP tests. Testing is anathema to a productive high school environment: it encourages conformity to a slim set of teachings, and punishes students attempting to go beyond the bounds set by those...
Colonel Mustard in the library with a wrench
I had a ridiculous dream last night about a murder mystery that involved, among other things, bloody cakes, Beatles covers by Feist, and Tina Fey as my crime-fighting partner. It was just about to be a fantastic Season-1-Veronica-Mars-like conclusion when my mom woke me up by stuffing her fingers up my nose. It took a while for me to realise that wasn’t part of the dream.
It's frakking time...
.. that I started watching Battlestar Galactica. I am only a few episodes in and I think pretty soon I’ll be one of those people who talk about it all the time. It’s not just for nerds, you guys! I was surprised at how impossible it was not to absolutely love and understand and obsess over how fast I can go through the first season.
In the backseat
I don’t expect a lot out of taxi drivers, but the least they could do is know the difference between “left” and “straight”. The universe should have more sympathy for underpaid and overworked interns.
Accents
If I ever go to Paris, I would be inclined to fall in love with everyone.
Geography
It’s scary how close I am (we are) to two entirely devastated places right now, but what can I do but go on with living (sleeping in on a Saturday morning, being overly concerned about the new zit on my nose, calculating how much a MacBook Pro would cost in relation to my internship allowance, making lists of books to read)? Sometimes the world is too big.
Wake up
I had a dream about good speakers last night. Seriously, that was the entire dream. Good speakers.
Dear all:
I have decided to move my birthday from July to May this year. The three things I want need more than anything right now are: 1. Raspberry Grande Headphones by Boosted 2. Laceless sneakers from the John Varvatos for Converse range 3. A black Monster HoodieAll of these things and why I need them are in direct relation to work: Long bus rides to and fro, errands to run, and a very, very cold...
Ndeur Shoes →
He paints the loveliest customised designs on a pair of vintage shoes of your choice. In other words, I really want them.
In the strangest of places
I can’t decide if it’ll be cool or supremely awkward if people had shared dreams of one another.
I have to stop this thing I have for available yet unattainable guys - older ones, too cute, strangers, fictional. Anyone else have this problem, and is this why I think I’ll be single till I’m 30?
Stephen Colbert vs. Rain in a Dance Off. The winner is obvious, since Stephen is wearing red skinny pants. This song pops up in my mind all the time.
I make my own fun #2
One of the ways I get through my 11-hour workdays is singing and skipping while walking through the empty corridors in the television studio. There are a lot of empty corridors, and I have to run a lot of errands, so I get to do this a lot. I think I’m going to stop though, because way too many people have caught me doing this.
dingoesatemybaby:Thought I’d just share with you guys my favourite ever Take Away Show performance. This is Architecture in Helsinki and the song is “Heart it Races.” This one’s my favorite (Au Revoir Simone - Stay Golden).
